Open the front door and this home immediately welcomes you with the feeling of elegant but relaxed luxury with a strong emphasis on outdoor living. A seamless connection between the interior and exterior is present throughout.
This renovation included some changes to partition walls and interior architecture, but did not require major structural alterations. Our design & decorating work also included the selection of new flooring, and remodelling of bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen alterations, and new decorating throughout.
Our design influence begins with the new exterior wall & trim colours. Open the front door and you step onto polished tile floors which flow consistently through the main living areas. Decorative inlay is used to define the foyer entrance.
Entrance ways were heightened and detailed millwork added to accentuate high ceilings and arched entrance ways and was styled to tie the outside and inside architecture together. .
Obstructive columns and a dropped ceiling were removed from the piano room. The walls here have been papered and the ceiling finished with a faux metallic paint treatment to match the shimmering silk draperies.
A feature corner wall finished with Brazilian cherry tiles in three different thicknesses was designed to provide a home for the TV, fireplace and display shelves for art pieces.The cherry valance over the patio door matches the fireplace finish.
Outdoor living is certainly a major draw and made comfortable with a cozy sitting area to gather around the TV and fireplace complete with kitchen and grilling centre. The wood trim including ceilings and cabinetry are all made from cypress wood. The fireplace is faced with slate tile and the backsplash over the grill is stone tile. Countertops are granite and finished with a chiseled edge. The floors are honed travertine tile.
The master ensuite bathroom was completely renovated to allow the existing window to become a feature by centering it in the room. A new shower was designed and all new cabinetry.
The guest bathrooms were redone with new showers and cabinetry also.
The kitchen was remodeled and refitted with new island, doors/drawers and a tile backsplash added to the wet bar area.
Designs for cabinetry, drapery and surface material finishing was all done by Turnbull Interiors.
