Georgian Bay Estate

This unique and elegant 10,000 sq. ft. timber-frame house was designed by David Fujiwara, Architect with interior design by Turnbull Interiors of Distinction Inc. We worked closely with the architect and the builder, Odd Jobbers of Penetanguishine and the trades, from the conceptual planning stage through to the final execution of all finishing details to ensure all of our clients expectations were fulfilled.

The home is in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings and while large in scale, it maintains a warmth and welcoming ambiance that supports and comforts an easy day to day living style that can easily be lost in a country estate of this magnitude. Careful planning and choice of finishing materials, together with a commitment to interior design detail, ensured that luxury while obvious, remained understated and "country lifestyle" supportive - truly casually elegant.

The interior of this home includes a self-contained two bedroom apartment as well as a large gym, spa area, home theatre and games area. It has many unique interior design features such as dormer windows, and sloped ceilings on the upper level which required special attention. We were excited throughout the project to work with the interior architecture to create attractive functional solutions which built on the design, rather than than compete with it.

The cabinetry and furnishings were designed by Turnbull Interiors, and all the upholstered pieces, draperies & soft furnishings were designed and made in our workrooms. We sourced carpets - both imported area rugs and those custom designed by us. Needless to say, we are proud of the results, but what's even more important, our clients were very happy.
